Melina Mamone was born, raised, and currently residing in the Hamilton-Centre district for 40+ years, with a long standing affiliation with her community.
In addition to her community involvement, Melina holds a Master of Arts degree in Global Studies from McMaster University, with an emphasis on immigration in the era of globalization, and a graduate diploma from United Nations University with a focus on water-related health risks. She has garnered 10+ years of research experience with a social, environmental, and natural sciences background, including fieldwork encounter in a developing nation context.
Melina’s research assignments include the extensive examination of the current health-water crisis in Grassy Narrows, and the critical examination of the relation between migration and infectious diseases.
